Automatic Control Laboratory conducts research on two main areas: intelligent machine tools and energy efficient fluid power systems. 

We have retrofitted an old 5 axis Deckel Milling machine with PC based controller and with modern servo motor and drive systems. We are developing algorithms for intelligent CNC systems, those includes

  • Chatter detection, identification and control
  • Process identification
  • Milling force estimation
  • Milling force control
